* Demand World-Class Standards: To better prepare our students for success in college and the workforce, your governor must implement the Common Core Standards in your state. These standards define the knowledge and skills students should have within their K-12 education career to give them a world-class education. * Get Local:  You can't change education nationally without acting locally. Continue the conversation with this group. Get involved in your city: mentor a child, volunteer at your neighborhood school, attend a school board meeting, and learn what other ways you can make a difference. * Volunteer & Mentor:  Helping a school helps your community. Find volunteer and mentoring opportunities near you at www.mentoring.org 
* Donate:  Did you know that on average a teacher spends over $500 a year on school supplies? And that comes straight from their pocket. Help a teacher out by funding their classroom project at http://www.donorschoose.org
* Get Informed:  Find local schools on http://www.GreatSchools.org, and see how our schools are doing compared with others.
* Join the Debate: No one can argue that the U.S. public education system needs change, but the methods to do so are constantly being debated. Share your opinion at http://www.waitingforsuperman.com/action, and learn from others.
